Editorial Policy
Touchline Sport publishes independent football analysis, features and timely coverage. This page explains how the work is sourced, labelled and corrected.
Accuracy and sourcing
Facts, figures, quotes and claims are checked against reliable sources before publication. Where information comes from another publication, club statement, governing body, dataset or interview, Touchline aims to make that source clear in the article or accompanying research.
Original analysis is kept distinct from factual reporting. Where an interpretation or judgement is being made, it should read as analysis rather than as an undisputed fact.
Corrections and updates
If a material factual error is identified, Touchline will correct it as soon as reasonably possible. Articles may also be updated when new information materially changes the context. The structured publication data on article pages includes publication and modification dates where appropriate.
Independence and opinion
Touchline Sport is an independent publication. Analysis and opinion are the author's own unless clearly stated otherwise. Commercial relationships, partnerships or sponsored material should be disclosed when they are relevant to the content.
Authorship and transparency
Articles are published with a clear author byline, publication date and page-specific metadata. Touchline's founder and primary writer is James Callan, whose background and areas of work are set out on his author page.
